Syndic8 is proud to welcome Mike Sorabella to its Advisory Board. Mike is the former CEO and President of Shoes.com, and brings a wealth of retail experience to Syndic8.
Mike has 20+ years of executive leadership experience directing strategic, financial and operational management. Mr. Sorabella served as the Chief Executive Officer & President of Shoes.com (formerly Shoebuy.com) from 2011 until late 2018. Under his guidance the company grew exponentially and became one of the largest e-Commerce retailers of footwear and related apparel. In December 2016, Mike led the successful sale of the Company to Walmart and, in addition to leading Shoes.com, led Walmart’s online footwear category from acquisition close until his departure in October 2018.
Prior to serving as CEO at Shoes.com, Mike co-foundedPremier Global Securities Lending (PGSL) to disrupt the Securities Financeindustry. Prior to founding PGSL, Mikewas the CFO of Shoebuy.com and led the company through its sale to IAC Corp inFebruary 2006. Previously, Mike served as the CFO & COO of Bonaire SoftwareSolutions, a financial services software company specializing in revenue andfee billing systems in the Asset Management industry. Prior to joining Bonaire in 1999, Mike servedas European Treasury Director at BankBoston Corp managing the bank’s OverseasTreasury business and multi-currency balance sheets.
Prior to serving as CEO at Shoes.com, Mike co-founded Premier Global Securities Lending (PGSL) to disrupt the Securities Finance industry. Prior to founding PGSL, Mike was the CFO of Shoebuy.com and led the company through its sale to IAC Corp in February 2006. Previously, Mike served as the CFO & COO of Bonaire Software Solutions, a financial services software company specializing in revenue and fee billing systems in the Asset Management industry. Prior to joining Bonaire in 1999, Mike served as European Treasury Director at BankBoston Corp managing the bank’s Overseas Treasury business and multi-currency balance sheets.
Until his recent departure from Shoes.com, Mike servedfor five years on the board of directors of the Footwear Distributors & Retailersof America (FDRA). Mike earned a B.A. inEconomics from Boston College in 1988 and currently resides north of Boston, MA.
