Make your product facts the ones AI assistants find and trust.
Answer Engine Optimization is making sure your products are the ones ChatGPT, Google's AI answers, Perplexity, Amazon's Rufus and Walmart's Sparky recommend. Those assistants build answers from facts they can find and verify. Syndic8 generates a schema.org record for every product from the data you already groom for your retailers, hosts it, and your site points to it with one extra field in the feed you already send. One authoritative source, published by you, instead of five retailer pages that disagree.
The way your customers find you this year is not the way they found you last year.
Shoppers are asking an assistant which product to buy and taking its answer. Search engines still matter, and the retailer pages still matter, but the fastest-growing path to your product now runs through an AI that reads facts and recommends. Adobe measured it across more than a trillion visits to U.S. retail sites:
Sources: Adobe Digital Insights, Q3 AI Traffic Trends Report (June 2026), covering more than one trillion visits to U.S. retail sites and a March 2026 survey of 5,000+ U.S. consumers; Amazon Q4 2025 and Q1 2026 earnings calls.
Assistants don't reward clever copy. They reward facts they can check.
When someone asks an assistant which pressure washer to buy for a two-car driveway, the answer is assembled from product facts the assistant can find across the web and trust. Brands drop out of that answer for three ordinary reasons.
The facts are missing
The attribute that decides the recommendation (flow rate, fit, material, compatibility) isn't published anywhere the assistant can read, so a competitor with the attribute wins the slot.
The facts disagree
Home Depot says 2400 PSI, Lowe's says 2300, Walmart has last year's title, Amazon has a different weight. An assistant that can't reconcile the product treats it as unreliable.
The facts are in a picture
Specs that live only in a label image or a PDF spec sheet are invisible to most answer engines. They need plain text and structured fields.
One schema.org record per product, built from the same data that feeds your retailers.
Syndic8 already holds a normalized record for every SKU: identifiers, attributes with accepted values, descriptions, images. AEO output is that record expressed as a schema.org Product file, generated and hosted by Syndic8. Your product pages reference the file's URL, and AI crawlers read it there. When the data changes in Syndic8, the file is regenerated at the same address.
Built from the normalized record
Name, brand, SKU and GTIN, images, description, and the category attributes you've filled in, emitted as schema.org Product and Offer fields plus additionalProperty entries for everything else that matters in your category.
Hosted by Syndic8, claimed by you
Syndic8 hosts the file. Your site points to it, so the assistant reads the brand's own published facts rather than a retailer's copy of them. Nothing is injected into your pages; your web team adds a reference, not a rebuild.
Consistent with every channel
Because the same record is syndicated to Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot and the rest, the brand site and the retailer listings agree on identifiers, titles and specs. Agreement is what lets an assistant reconcile a product across sources.
Kept current
Change a spec in Syndic8 and the file is regenerated, in the same motion that updates your channel exports. The URL your site references never changes, so there is no second copy to maintain and nothing to redeploy.
Most of your work is done - the same data you groom in Syndic8 for your retail sites powers AEO
Get the record complete
Preflight scores tell you which attributes are missing or inconsistent; Data Remediation fills them with evidence. An assistant can only cite what's there, so this is where most of the lift happens. Scoring · Remediation.
Decide what to expose
Not every internal attribute belongs on the public record. You choose the fields, and the output carries only approved values, so regulated or unverified claims never go out by accident.
Syndic8 generates and hosts the file; your site feed carries one more field
For the products you've selected, Syndic8 produces the schema.org file and hosts it at a stable URL. You already syndicate product data to your own site; add one field to that feed, the file's URL, and your product pages reference it. That's the whole integration.
Keep the channels in step
Syndicate the same record to your retailers so their pages carry the same identifiers and specs. When your site and the retailer pages agree, the assistant has corroboration rather than a conflict.
Three acronyms, one underlying asset: complete, consistent, machine-readable product facts.
SEO isn't going away. It is still how a shopper who types a query finds your page or a retailer's. What has changed is that a growing share of shoppers never see a results page; they ask, and an assistant answers. That is the ground AEO and GEO cover.
Search Engine Optimization
Getting a page to rank in a list of results: keywords, links, page speed, metadata. The unit is a page and the goal is a click. Still essential, still the reason titles and search terms matter on every channel, and the retailer's own search is SEO too.
Generative Engine Optimization
Getting your content used and cited when a generative engine (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity) composes an answer. The unit is a passage or a fact, and the goal is to be the source the answer is built from. Overlaps heavily with AEO; the emphasis is on being quoted.
Answer Engine Optimization
Getting your product to be the one an assistant recommends when someone asks what to buy: Rufus, Sparky, ChatGPT shopping, Google's AI answers. The unit is the product record, and the goal is a recommendation. This is where structured, verifiable product facts decide the outcome, and where Syndic8 works.
Where they overlap
All three reward the same thing: accurate, complete facts in a form a machine can read, that say the same thing everywhere they appear. The work you do for one carries into the others.
Where they differ
SEO is won with keywords and links on a page. AEO is won with facts and consistency in a record. An assistant doesn't rank your page; it decides whether it trusts your product enough to name it.
It isn't a ranking trick.
No one controls what an assistant says. What you control is whether the facts exist, whether they are structured, and whether your site and your retailers agree on them.
Start narrow.
One product line, the attributes buyers ask about, published and verified. Then widen.
Pick a product line. We'll show you what an assistant can see today, and what it would see with the record published.
Existing Syndic8 customers can start from their current catalog. New brands can send a product file.
